The ELI Family Law Working Team meets for the fourth time, 13 June, Vienna

On 13 June the Working Team meeting of the ELI Project “Empowering European Families - Towards More Party Autonomy in European Family and Succession Law” took place in Vienna. Members of the Working Team met with the Advisory Committee to share the interim results and discuss the progress of the Project.

The focus of the meeting was on finalizing and discussing the draft templates on the choice of court and choice of applicable law, as well as on evaluation of the outcome of the national reports. The latter constitute a crucial part of this Project, submitted by eminent experts in the field of family law and private international law from all 28 EU Member States.

The meeting of the Working Team with the Advisory Committee precedes the Public Workshop “Choice of law and choice of court for family related disputes” of the ELI Project “Empowering European Families: Choice of Court and Choice of Law and Submission to Family Mediation”, which will be held on 14 June in Vienna. The aim of the Workshop is to present and discuss interim results of the ongoing Project. Distinguished experts will address current legal developments at the EU level and provide a critical analysis on the applicable law of divorce and legal separation as well as of property relations, maintenance and pension rights.
