Job Announcement – Finance and Event Officer

A part-time staff member (20 hours/week) is sought at the European Law Institute (ELI) Secretariat. We are looking for a committed and creative addition to our team with interdisciplinary experience, among other things, in finance and event coordination. We are offering flexible working hours as well as an international and creative working environment. The post is available as of December 2023 and the contract is for the period of one year, subject to a further extension.

Competencies

  • The primary responsibility of the Officer will be to assist in bookkeeping, including with the preparation of budgets and reconciliation of financial transactions
  • In addition to financial tasks, the person will also provide the Secretariat with overarching assistance in event management, which encompasses project-related meetings, conferences and key ELI events, such as the ELI Annual Conference and Meetings
  • The position requires flexibility, a great level of attention to detail, good time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be conversant in English and German. Knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage
  • Confidence with IT and computer packages especially, MS Office and Typo3
  • Excellent organisational, time management, written and verbal skills
  • Experience in finance and event management would be an asset as is experience at international organisations
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

 

Please note the salary scheme of the University of Vienna (§54 VwGr IIIa) applies to this position. The minimum monthly salary is EUR 2,380.20 gross 14 times a year (full time basis), increasing based on the years of relevant work experience, with a possibility for an additional overpayment.
