Mr Clough is a solicitor Advocate specialised in competition law with over 20 years of experience before the European Commission and the European Courts in Luxembourg as well as the UK competition authorities and UK courts. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999. 

Mr Clough is an Advisory Board member of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the chairman of the Law Society’s EU Committee. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Trade Law and Regulation Journal and the European Competition Journal.

He is the author of several books and numerous articles, writing most recently on competition damages actions.
