ELI Croatian Hub held the 19th Webinar in its Webinar Series

15.11.2022

On 15 November 2022, the ELI Croatian Hub held its 19th webinar in a series of webinars organised to contribute to the discussion on current ELI projects and recent developments in Croatian, comparative, and EU law. The webinar gathered 50 participants from Croatia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

The webinar started with a welcome address from Zoran Hačić (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Attorney-at-Law and Managing Partner at Hačić & Bošnjak Law Firm, Zagreb) and was followed by a lecture on ‘The 2022 Amendments to the Croatian Civil Procedure Act’, delivered by Dr Marko Bratković (Assistant Professor of Civil Procedure Law at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Law).

The lecture centred on recent amendments to the Croatian Civil Procedure Act relating, inter alia, to introduction of the procedural calendar (partly inspired by the case management rules of ELI/UNIDROIT Model European Rules of Civil Procedure), procedures for the disposition of small claims, the use of audio-video communication in court proceedings, and the concept of a surprise judgment (Überraschungsurteil).

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session.

The agenda of the webinar is available here.

The next ELI Croatian Hub webinar will be held on 13 December 2022.
