II Iberian Labour Law Meeting in Lisbon

The II Iberian Labour Law Meeting, organised by the Associação Portuguesa de Direito do Trabalho (APODIT) and the Asociación Española de Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social (AEDTSS) in Santiago de Compostela on 20–21 April 2017, is the second edition of a successful initiative that began in Lisbon in 2016. On this occasion, the scientific meeting studied 'The Reception of European Union Law in the Labour Laws of Spain and Portugal'.

Spanish and Portuguese academics analysed issues relevant to both legal systems eg the direct effectiveness of fundamental labour rights, the new concept of worker in EU law, the principle of equal treatment and prohibition of discrimination, the organisation of working time, the employment regime of the transfer of undertakings or the posting of workers within the EU.
