Center for Research on Circular Economy, Innovation and SMEs (CERCIS) Third Annual Conference

On 27–30 September, CERCIS’ third annual conference, held at the University of Ferrara, was supported by the ELI Environmental Law SIG. The event gave voice to national and international speakers who shared the most recent developments of the circular economy in the European context.

The rector of the University of Ferrara, Laura Ramaciotti, and Prof Massimiliano Mazzanti, opened the Conference. The topics covered shed light on various aspects of the economic and policy transition towards environmental sustainability and the achievement of circularity objectives, updating the audience on policies, digital solutions, investment trends, innovations and implementation strategies at company level. On the last day, young researchers and PhD students were invited to present their initial results on various aspects of the circular economy and environmental sustainability.

A representative of ART-ER (Attractiveness Research Territory), Daniela Sani, and General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), Pietro Mambriani, were present. The following also took part in the Conference: Burak Can (Associate Professor, University of Maastricht), Mireille Chiroleu-Assouline (Professor, University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), Shunsuke Managi (Professor, Kyushu University), Jens Horbach (Professor Dr, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences) and Sven-Olof Collin (Professor, Free University of Scania).
