Paid Internships – Law and PR

Paid internships at the ELI Secretariat in Vienna are available from June/July to October/November each year (but for a maximum period of 5 months).

An internship at the ELI Secretariat is the perfect opportunity for a candidate with a law degree or a student in the final stages of his/her legal studies to gain insight into the management of an international organisation which works towards the improvement of lawmaking across Europe and beyond. Please note that the tasks are heavily administrative.

Interns will have the opportunity to work with staff at the Secretariat on a number of tasks, including the organisation of the Annual Conference and Meetings, which will take place from 9–11 October in Dublin (Ireland). The Conference brings together around 400 participants and is attended by renowned legal experts from Europe and beyond. Interns also support Project Teams. We are looking for candidates with:

  • A law graduate or a student of law in the final stages of studies
  • Excellent knowledge of English (other languages will be an asset)
  • Enthusiasm, reliability and an ability to work independently
  • Excellent computer skills (knowledge of specialised programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop will be an asset)
  • Experience in project, event management and/or work experience in international organisations are beneficial

 Tasks include:

  • Involvement in preparation and post-production of Annual Conference and Meetings (eg liaising with speakers, PR- and finance-related activities, writing reports, compiling Conference materials)
  • Involvement in the preparation of various smaller Conferences and similar events
  • Assisting Project Officers in the administrative coordination of ongoing ELI projects
  • Assisting the Secretariat in providing administrative support to ELI Hubs and Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
  • Helping the PR Officer produce the regular Newsletter and offering other PR-related support such as contributing to the administration of the ELI website and social media platforms

Paid interns receive EUR 500 (net) per month on the basis of 36 hours/week and full health insurance benefits. Should you be interested, please submit a CV and cover letter to the ELI Secretariat.
