Become an ELI Sustaining Member

As the European Law Institute continues to grow in influence and impact, it is increasingly presented with opportunities to undertake new projects, strengthen strategic partnerships and contribute to the development of the law in Europe and beyond. Realising these opportunities, however, requires a stable and predictable financial foundation.

The ELI Sustaining Membership scheme provides members with an opportunity to make an enhanced voluntary contribution to the Institute's long-term development. Rather than creating a new category of membership, it builds upon and modernises the existing concept of Benefactor, which has formed part of the ELI's membership structure since 2016.

By becoming a Sustaining Member, you help provide the Institute with the flexibility to invest in innovative initiatives, respond to emerging challenges and pursue projects that advance ELI's mission of improving the quality of the law. A list of current Sustaining Members can be found here.

The scheme is open to individual members. Sustaining Members make an annual voluntary contribution of €120, in addition to the standard annual membership fee of €100. This additional support enables ELI to plan with greater confidence, strengthen its institutional resilience and continue expanding its activities for the benefit of the wider legal community.

In recognition of their commitment, Sustaining Members are acknowledged on the ELI website, invited to the Sustaining Members' Networking Breakfast held alongside the Annual Conference, and recognised, where appropriate, in Institute publications and communications.
