Broadening Relations with the Hungarian Legal Community

On the occasion of her visit to the opening of the ELI Hungarian Hub in Budapest (Hungary), ELI President Christiane Wendehorst met the President of the Constitutional Court and representatives of the Hungarian Bar Association to raise the profile of the ELI and the Empowering European Families project.

In her meeting with Tamás Sulyok, President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary, Christiane Wendehorst presented the ELI and focused on topics of common interest, such as the ELI project on Common Constitutional Traditions in Europe and the Administrative Law Special Interest Group (SIG). They also discussed the role of the judiciary in Hungary and across Europe. On behalf of the Constitutional Court of Hungary, Sulyok expressed his keen interest to support and contribute to the aims of the ELI and its activities.

The ELI President also met with representatives of the Hungarian Bar Association, Vice-President András Szecskay and Eva Sandor, who expressed their great interest in the ELI and its activities. Also, future options for cooperation were discussed.

Following the opening of the ELI Hungarian Hub, these meetings with officials were another great opportunity to present the Empowering European Families project and to broaden ELI’s relations with the Hungarian legal community.
