ELI Advises Greens/EFA on the Reform of Product Liability Directive

Prof Dr Jean-Sébastien Borghetti, Co-Reporter of ELI Reform of the Product Liability Directive project met representatives of European Parliament’s Greens–European Free Alliance to outline ELI’s position on the topic.

The meeting took place on 19 April 2023, few days after the Draft Report from the Rapporteurs (Pascal Arimont and Vlad-Marius Botoş) was made available, and ahead of the Parliamentary deadline to provide amendments to the European Commission’s proposal for a directive on liability for defective products. Participants discussed the inclusion of software in the directive among many other matters.
