The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) project aims at elaborating a new instrument on the determination of the applicable law to digital assets, such as stablecoins, utility tokens, tokens representing an interest in real estate, or non-fungible tokens. The meeting convened over 40 representatives of Member States and Observers to the project, with discussions mainly focusing on the scope of the project.
The first working meeting of the Digital Tokens Project will be held in June 2024 and Prof Dr Matthias Lehmann will once again represent ELI in its capacity as Observer to this project.
