ELI Scientific Director, Prof Dr Christiane Wendehorst, represented ELI on the occasion.

The meeting focused on the discussion and revision of draft standard rules for data provision agreements, which were first developed at the 65th meeting of the Working Group in New York in April 2023. The standard rules are intended to promote the creation of harmonised rules for data provision and thus enable a favourable environment for cross-border data flows.

Prof Wendehorst participated in the discussion as an expert who is involved in this topic through her collaboration with the ALI and the ELI, as UNCITRAL’s working group's work on the topic is largely based on the ALI-ELI Principles for a Data Economy developed by her and Neil B Cohen.
