With the Antitrust Damages Directive of 2014, the European Union aimed to strengthen antitrust enforcement and to sanction corporate infringements accordingly. After several years of experience of the Directive, a reevaluation of this European legislation seemed appropriate.
Prof Christian Kersting, LLM, Yale (Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf) spoke alongside Dr Katharina Kolb (Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP, Munich) about the status and perspectives of antitrust damages law. They also analysed problems and made reform proposals for the current legal situation.
