Under the moderation of Prof Dr Susanne Augenhofer, LLM (Yale), Prof Dr Christiane Wendehorst, LLM (Cantab) spoke about the latest legislative developments in the legal relationship between consumers and producers. In particular, she discussed the current proposal for a directive COM(2023) 155 final on common rules promoting the repair of goods, which provides, under certain conditions, for consumers’ right to repair against producers. Following Prof Wendehorst's presentation, Jutta Gurkmann (Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband, vzbv) evaluated the EU's current regulatory plans from the perspective of consumer protection organisations.

Finally, participants were invited to address the two speakers with questions and the event concluded with a lively discussion.
