ELI Croatian Hub held the 21st Webinar in its Webinar Series

17.01.2023

On 17 January 2023, the ELI Croatian Hub held its 21st webinar in a series of webinars organised to contribute to discussions on current ELI projects and recent developments in Croatian, comparative, and EU law. The webinar gathered 30 participants from Croatia.

The webinar opened by a welcome address from Prof Dr Emilia Mišćenić (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business). This was followed by a lecture on ‘The Lost Philosophy of Copyright’, delivered by Tea Mustać (Spirit Legal, Leipzig).

In her lecture, Tea Mustać presented her 2022 ELI Young Lawyers Award winning paper to Croatian audience, mostly young practitioners and students. Among other things, Mustać addressed the controversial Article 17 of the Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market.

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session, during which Mustać shared her motivation for submitting an entry into the ELI Young Lawyers Award and her experiences after winning the 2022 award. ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chairs Prof Dr Emilia Mišćenić and Dr Ivan Tot informed participants about the 2023 ELI Young Lawyers Award.

The agenda of the webinar is available here.

The next ELI Croatian Hub webinar will be held on 14 February 2023.
