Prof Dr Jens-Peter Schneider, Co-Reporter of the ELI Model Rules on Impact Assessment of Algorithmic Decision-Making Systems Used by Public Administration, regularly contributes to the efforts of the Working Group since its establishment in 2022. The Working Group is, among other things, preparing proposals on possible future work by the CDCJ in the field of administrative law and AI as well as updating the handbook ‘The Administration and You’.

During the online meetings of 10 and 17 July 2023, the Working Group discussed and amended initial draft updates prepared by various members. Prof Dr Schneider was responsible for drafting amendments to the comments concerning Principles 8 (Access), 9 (Participation), 10 (Right to be heard) and 11 (Representation and assistance). I addition, he contributed to discussions on the other substantive and procedural principles covered by the handbook.

The Working Group will reconvene for a final meeting in Strasbourg at the end of September 2023 to finalise the updates.
