ELI President, Prof Dr Pascal Pichonnaz, lauded President Chaix and the Swiss Federal Supreme Court for their distinguished legacy as a pillar of judicial excellence, emphasising the Court’s crucial role in safeguarding the rule of law both within Switzerland and on the international stage. He also expressed his profound gratitude for the invitation to attend the anniversary celebrations, held at the prestigious Beau-Rivage and at the Court’s headquarters during two days, shared between scientific panels with Swiss Federal Judges, and official ceremonies.

The event provided a highly thoughtful programme and facilitated an enriching exchange of ideas among the distinguished attendees. ELI Members and Reporters present included Keon Leanarts (President of the Court of Justice of the European Union), Andreas Zünd (Judge, European Court of Human Rights), and Georg Kodek (President, Austrian Supreme Court).

ELI looks forward to the continued strengthening of this collaboration and to welcoming President Chaix and other members of the court to ELI’s Annual Conference in Vienna this September.
