In presentations by Giesela Rühl (Berlin), Eva-Maria Kieninger (Würzburg), Patrick Leyens (Bremen), Ulrich Schroeter (Basel) and Pascal Hachem (Zurich), the various approaches to the protection of human rights and the environment in supply chains were presented and discussed from a comparative law perspective. The EU Commission's proposal for a Directive on corporate sustainability due diligence was discussed too. Consideration was also given to aspects of international civil procedure law and private international law as well as the practical handling of all these issues in the practice of companies and their advisors. The papers will be published in a conference volume with a report edited by the Ernst von Caemmerer-Stiftung.
