ELI was represented at the 3rd Symposium on World Economics, Finance and Business (WEFB 2026), where Dr Yuri Biondi, Co-Reporter of the ELI Guidance on Company Capital and Financial Accounting for Corporate Sustainability, delivered a keynote presentation during the hybrid session on Accounting and Business Research.
In his presentation, Biondi introduced the ELI Guidance and highlighted its contribution to ongoing discussions on corporate sustainability. The session explored one of the central challenges in the field: the tension between sustainability objectives, shareholder value orientation, and the competitive pressures arising from international capital markets.
The discussion underscored how the ELI Guidance contributes to current regulatory and policy debates by addressing the impact of financialisation on sustainable corporate conduct and recognising the diversity of corporate business models and approaches to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.
The event provided an important opportunity to increase awareness of the ELI Guidance among an international audience, particularly in Asia.
