ELI Participation in the Experts’ Group on Central Bank Digital Currencies

Discussions focused on Cross-Border Jurisdiction of Central Bank Digital Currencies in The Hague from 24–26 June 2024

After the successful online kick-off meeting of the Expert Group on Central Bank Digital Currencies, held 14 May 2024, the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) in the Hague hosted the first working meeting of the Experts Group on Central Bank Digital Currencies in a hybrid format.

The event took place from 24–26 June 2024, gathered numerous delegates and experts representing members and observers. The working meeting focuses on exploring and studying the matter of applicable law and jurisdiction issues that concern the cross-border use and transfer of central bank digital currencies.

ELI was represented by Mr Marko Dimitrijevic, Associate Professor and Jean Monnet Module for European Monetary Law (MONELA).
