On 24 May 2024, ELI’s Turkish Hub hosted its Launch Event at GKC Partners/White & Case in Istanbul. ELI President, Prof Dr Pascal Pichonnaz, spoke on Ownership and Digital Assets at the invitation of the Hub’s Co-Chairs, including Başak Başoğlu (ELI Council Member; Associate Professor of Civil Law at the Law School of Pîrî Reis University, Turkey). President Pichonnaz also highlighted ELI's activities and expressed his gratitude for the work of the ELI Turkish Hub, particularly its extensive accomplishments in translating ELI’s inputs into Turkish and its accompanying series of webinars.

Furthermore, ELI’s Executive Member, Prof Dr Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell (Carlos III University of Madrid), provided an insightful presentation ELI’s and UNIDROIT’s work on the enforcement of digital assets, while ELI’s Council member, Prof Dr Matthias Lehmann, reported on private international law and digital assets, under the event’s theme, ‘The Trends in Digital Assets’.

ELI Turkish Hub was launched in 2022. It Co-Chairs are Başak Başoğlu, Hüseyin Can Aksoy, Ayşegül Buğra, Kadir Berk Kapanci and Bora Kaya. Samim Ünan, Şebnem Akipek Öcal, Yeşim Atamer, Orkun Akseli, Valentin Retornaz and Eylem Aksoy Retornaz sit in its Advisory Board.
