ELI’s President, Prof Dr Pascal Pichonnaz, participated in the kick-off meeting of the Global Forum on Law, Justice, and Development (GFLJD), an initiative hosted by the Legal Vice-Presidency of the World Bank Group (WBG). This revitalised initiative aims to leverage legal expertise to address global development challenges, emphasising the critical role of strong legal frameworks in fostering sustainable economic growth.
As part of this vision, ELI reaffirmed its commitment to actively engage in Pillar VII, dedicated to research organisations and think tanks. This pillar focuses on fostering collaboration among academic institutions, research bodies and policy think tanks to generate evidence-based solutions for global development.
President Pichonnaz’s participation in the Steering Committee’s kick-off meeting marks the beginning of ELI’s involvement in this initiative.
