Pelosi was honored for being an ardent defender of the rule of law, powerfully attached to democracy and its values, among other things. On the occasion, ELI President, Prof Dr Pascal Pichonnaz, was able to meet her and speak briefly about ELI’s commitment to the rule of law, as evinced by a pillar dedicated to the issue, under its project portfolio.
He handed her a gift, typical of the city of Fribourg (Switzerland).
