Both were joined by ELI’s Secretary General Dr Vanessa Wilcox and Head of Unit for Contract Law, Dirk Staudenmayer. On the occasion, President Pichonnaz congratulated Director-General Ana Gallego Torres on her recent appointment and informed her of ELI, its projects and other activities. Among other things, Director-General Ana Gallego Torres acknowledged the Institute’s unique contribution to the work of the EU Commission and congratulated it not only for addressing current pressing legal issues but also for its foresight in identifying future issues to tackle.

The meeting also served as an occasion to consider avenues for cooperation.
