The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), an ELI member, held a working group session at its headquarters in Rome, Italy, on international investment contracts. ELI President, Prof Dr Pascal Pichonnaz, attended the workshop, joining experts in the field of international investment law in drafting new standards for international investment contracts.

The project is jointly undertaken by UNIDROIT and the International Chamber of Commerce’s Institute of World Business Law (ICC Institute). It aims at developing guidance to foster the modernisation and standardisation of international investment contracts.

ELI and UNIDROIT already collaborated successfully on their joint Model European Rules of Civil Procedure.
