ELI President, Prof Dr Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell, spoke at the above conference which brought together legal experts, policymakers, and representatives of European institutions to discuss two key priorities for the European Union: the development of a European Defence Union and the simplification of legislation to enhance the Union’s competitiveness.
The event featured discussions on the legal challenges associated with strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy and examined how regulatory simplification can support innovation, economic growth, and effective governance.
