ELI Project on Algorithmic Contracts: Meeting with DG JUST and JRC

On 14 November 2023, Co-Reporters of the ELI project on Guiding Principles and Model Rules on Algorithmic Contracts met with representative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST) and Joint Research Centre (JRC).

Participants discussed their on-going work in the field of algorithmic contracts and explored possible synergies. Three of the ELI Co-Reporters, Christoph Busch, Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell and Christian Twigg-Flesner, presented ELI’s Draft Report on EU Consumer Law and Automated Decision-Making, which will be the first, interim output of the ELI project. The Report will be put for a vote at the next ELI Council meeting of 27 November 2023.

On the side of DG JUST and JRC, Nestor Duch-Brown, Adrien Flesch, Elena Navajas Cawood, Eleni Anna Liasidou, Maria Peltoniemi, Katarzyna Pogorzelska, Simona Staikova-van Bommel, Dirk Staudenmayer and Diana Ursuleanu participated in the meeting. They were joined by ELI Senior Project Officer Katja Kolman.
