Participants discussed their proposals for the revisions of the current Product Liability Directive (PLD) with regard to issues such as ‘relevant harm’ and with regard to the notion of ‘product’. The Team will continue their discussions on 10 and 16 May 2022.
The project aims at improving the PLD, particularly in light of challenges brought about by the digital age, and at making it suitable for implementation at national level. The Team are producing a text that strives to strike a balance between the adequate distribution of risks between manufacturers and developers on the one hand and victims of defective products on the other.
