The webinar shed light on implementing the concept of transitional justice in Ukraine. In addition, determining the mechanisms for solving complex issues Ukraine is currently facing in connection with the aggression of the Russian Federation was also discussed. It was agreed that there is no unequivocal definition of the term and mechanism of transitional justice, but as a tool for achieving peace, transitional justice has received wide international recognition and application.
For Ukraine, this is a fairly new topic, but is considered a constructive solution in the situation of occupation and the consequences of the armed conflict. Although, the national model of transitional justice is currently being finalised, it is essentially part of the strategy of de-occupation and reintegration of its citizens and should be implemented in Ukraine’s post-conflict period.
