This was the working group's third meeting in 2018. The focus of the meeting was on the general provisions as drafted, revised and commented. Members of the working group, Loïc Cadiet, Xandra Kramer, John Sorabji and Rolf Stürner, discussed the following issues among other things: the revision of specific rules in order to create a uniform and cohesive style, the approach to be taken towards the comments in the final Consolidated Draft of the European Rules of Civil Procedure, how the rules that are still to be included will be appropriately incorporated and the overall way forward. The meeting resulted in a refined and improved draft of the General Part of the Draft and a clear vision of the upcoming months.
The Structure working group was established in 2015 to coordinate the emerging draft rules within a functional whole and to have oversight of linguistic issues.
The Structure working group is planning to hold further meetings later this autumn. In addition, a public Conference will take place on 26–27 November in Trier (Germany). The event will be organised in cooperation with the Academy of European Law (ERA). Please check the ELI website for further details on these and other project-related events.
