On 4 April 2025, ELI’s Scientific Director, Prof Dr Christiane Wendehorst, represented ELI at a high-level event held at the University of Vienna. The event, entitled ‘Increase Competitiveness and Stop the Flood of Standards – European Business Code and 28th Regime’, was organised by ELI Council member, Prof Dr Matthias Lehmann, under the auspices of the University of Vienna, the Henri Capitant Association and the ELI. More information on the event can be found here.
Bringing together legal experts from across Europe, the event focused on the European Economic Code, developed by an international group of academics and practitioners. Prof Dr Wendehorst presented ELI’s initiative to provide structured feedback on the European Business Code drafted by the Henri Capitant Association.
This initiative leverages ELI’s extensive network to gather high-quality input from academic experts, judges, practitioners and other stakeholders. By doing so, ELI aims to offer a unique and comprehensive perspective to the initiative, which seeks to harmonise the law within Europe.
