On 6 September 2023, the ELI Council approved the Final Draft of ELI Guiding Principles on Implementing Workers’ Right to Disconnect.

ELI’s ten Guiding Principles aim at supporting legislators and social partners at striking a balance between the conflicting rights of employers and employees, at a time of increasing use of digital and technological tools. At the core of the Principles is a desire to protect the physical and mental health of all workers, by guaranteeing resting time and improving the predictability of working schedules.

ELI wishes to congratulate Project Reporters, Prof Dr Karine Lempen and Prof Dr Luca Ratti for their immense work and great achievement as well Italian Constitutional Court Judge Silvana Sciarra, for chairing the project. Gratitude is also due to the Project Chair, Judge Silvana Sciarra, and to other members of the team, Dr Manuel Antonio García-Muñoz Alhambra and Dr Zoé Seiler as well as to the Advisory Committee, which provided comments and supported the team throughout the lifespan of the project.

We are pleased to announce that the Guiding Principles will be presented and discussed on 13 November 2023 from 13:00 to 14:30 CET during a webinar. More information about it is available here. To register for the webinar, which is free of charge, please click here
