Helmut Heiss (Professor, University of Zurich; Co-Director of the PRICL Project) and Marta Ostrowska (General Secretary of the PRICL Project, University of Zurich and University of Warsaw) delivered an introduction to COVID-19 losses, PRICL and the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (PICC).
Ignacio Tirado (Professor; Secretary-General of UNIDROIT) and Anna Veneziano (Professor; Deputy Secretary-General of UNIDROIT) presented the Note on the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts and the COVID-19 health crisis.
This was followed by a presentation addressing the aggregation of COVID-19 losses under the PRICL by Oliver D William (Senior Researcher, University of Bern; Special Advisor of the PRICL Project).
Jeffrey W Stempel (Professor, University of Nevada, Las Vegas) and Kevin Bork (Deputy General Counsel, Helvetia Insurance Germany; Special Advisor of the PRICL Project) then discussed the issue of follow-the-settlements clauses of COVID-19 losses and follow-the-fortunes clauses under the PRICL.
The lecture was concluded with remarks on COVID-19 challenges for (re-)insurance law by Manfred Wandt (Professor, Goethe-University, Frankfurt/Main; Co-Director of the PRICL Project).
