At this inaugural meeting, the project’s aims, outputs and timeline were briefly presented and discussed. Participants reflected further on the first phase of the project, which will entail an analysis of existing EU consumer law in a bid to evaluate whether it provides a suitable legal framework for the use of algorithmic decision-making systems in contractual relations.
The Project Team will continue with its work in two smaller working groups, with one developing Guiding Principles and the other working on (future) use cases and scenarios in the context of algorithmic contracts. The broader Project Team intends to meet again in July 2022.
