Seminar with the Slovenian Bar Association and the Chamber of Notaries in Ljubljana

04.10.2019

On 4 October 2019, ELI President Wendehorst held a Seminar with the Slovenian Bar Association and the Chamber of Notaries of Slovenia. The event took place at the Ministry of Justice of Ljubljana and drew around 20 participants. It was an important event in terms of further disseminating the output of the Empowering European Families project

After some brief introductory remarks by State Secretary Mr Gregor Strojin, President Wendehorst gave a general presentation of the European Law Institute (ELI) and one of its projects. The bulk of the talk was dedicated to the ELI ‘Empowering European Families’ project which was approved by ELI bodies in May 2019. Wendehorst discussed the three toolkits in depth which were designed for married couples, registered partners and couples in informal relationships, with a view to assisting legal professions in advising international couples within the EU. The presentation was followed by a discussion with those present. President Wendehorst welcomed the insightful contributions from the participants present.
