The launch was held at the Faculty of Law of the West Ukrainian National University during VI International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Russian-Ukrainian War: Law, Security, World.’ The conference was organised in person at the Faculty of Law of Western Ukrainian National University, Ternopil with participation of scholars from Ukraine, Georgia, Moldavia, Turkey, Poland and Germany. Contributors discussed various legal aspects of the current situation in Ukraine.
On the occasion, the Hub held its first event on the ‘Implementation and Coherence: Europeanisation of the Ukrainian law.’ The discussion dealt with challenges relating to negotiating, transposing and implementing EU law. Special attention was paid to the implementation of Directive 2019/771 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2019 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods, amending Regulation (EU) 2017/2394 and Directive 2009/22/EC, and repealing Directive 1999/44/EC (Text with EEA relevance) and the extent to which Ukrainian private law, in particular consumer rights in case of non-conformity of goods, is consistent with it. The future focus of the Ukrainian Hub, namely the Europeanisation of the Ukrainian law, was emphasised on the occasion.
