The newly established ELI Baltic Hub is organising its first conference, ‘Civil Law and Justice in the Baltic States’, which will take place on 18 June 2025 at the University of Latvia in Riga.
This conference represents a vital first step towards understanding the foundations of each Baltic State’s legal system from a private law perspective.
It aims to empower the Baltic legal communities and the ELI Baltic Hub through a comparative approach that identifies commonalities and differences in civil legal technique. This understanding will lay the groundwork for addressing more specific topics and analyses within the context of each respective legal system.
Renowned experts, from both academia and practice, will respond to a standard comparative questionnaire and present three key layers of each Baltic State's legal system: foundational (constitutional), substantive civil law, and civil procedure.
