On 18 September 2026, during the Asia-Pacific Chief Justices Conference in Seoul, Republic of Korea, ELI President Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell met with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to discuss opportunities for future cooperation between the two organisations.

The meeting brought together President Rodríguez de las Heras Ballell, ADB Deputy General Counsel and Officer-in-Charge, and Christina Pak, Assistant General Counsel for Law & Policy Reform at ADB. 

The discussion focused on areas of shared interest, including legal development, law reform, and the promotion of effective legal frameworks to support economic growth and the rule of law.

The exchange provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for collaboration and to strengthen ties between ELI and ADB.
