On 21 November 2024 (12:00–14:00 GMT-5), the ELI Principles on Third Party Funding of Litigation will take center stage.

The NYU School of Law, in collaboration with the Center for Transnational Litigation, Arbitration, and Commercial Law and the Center on Civil Justice, and ELI will host a lunchtime seminar entitled Third-Party Litigation Funding Through a Transatlantic Lens. The event will feature an in-depth discussion on third-party litigation funding (TPLF), grounded in the principles established by the European Law Institute (ELI).

The seminar will begin with an introduction by Professors Kevin Davis, Franco Ferrari and David Siffert (NYU). Following this, Prof Susanne Augenhofer (ELI Project Co-Reporter; University of Innsbruck, Visiting Professor, Yale Law School) will present an overview of the ELI’s principles. A panel of experts, including Prof Tony Sebok (Cordozo School of Law), Susie Kim (Parabellum Capital), Scevole de Cazotte (US Chamber of Commerce) and Prof Franco Ferrari (NYU), will provide commentary from different perspectives.
