In honour of Dr Jane Goodall, UN Messenger of Peace, a visionary, scientist, and lifelong advocate for the natural world, who sadly passed away on 1 October 2025.

Dr Goodall’s life’s work profoundly reshaped how humanity understands and connects with nature. Her compassion, dedication, and tireless efforts on behalf of animals and the environment touched millions around the globe and will continue to inspire generations to come.

At the ELI Annual Conference, held at the end of September 2025, she shared what would become one of her final public messages, words that now resonate with even greater urgency:

‘My last word – please never give up your fight to protect the natural world and all its inhabitants – for the sake of future generations of our children and the future of all life, as we know it, on planet Earth.’
