UK Hub Meeting: ELI in the World & ELI work on Digital Assets and on AI

The event will take place on 22 April 2026 (17:30–19:30 BST) at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Russell Square, London.

At the event, the ELI President will present ELI’s mission, global strategy, the aims for its 15 Anniversary, and extend an invitation for enhanced UK engagement. The First Vice-President and Master of the Rolls will speak about the importance of the themes of Digital Assets and AI for the UK judiciary and the legal profession.

The session on Digital Assets, presented by the ELI President, will offer an overview of the ELI’s Digital Asset instruments, including the Use of Digital Assets as Security, Enforcement, and Succession to Digital Assets, with commentary provided by Louise Gullifer.

The session on AI and the Law, presented by the First Vice-President, will cover the ELI Principles on AI and the Judiciary, developments on Automated Contracting, future project ideas in the field of AI, and an invitation for UK participation.
