11.11.2024

The above will take place on 11 November 2024 at 18:30 CET.

Register here.

The webinar is part of a broader dissemination initiative aimed at promoting the ELI Principles Governing the Third Party Funding of Litigation (TPFL), recently endorsed by ELI governing bodies (more here).

These Principles represent the culmination of an ELI project led by esteemed Co-Reporters Dame Sara Cockerill, Judge of the High Court of England and Wales and former Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court (2020–2022), and Professor Dr Susanne Augenhofer, Professor at University of Innsbruck, Senior Research Scholar in Law, and Visiting Professor at Yale Law School. Comprehensive in scope, the Principles offer essential guidance for litigants, funders, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities engaged in TPFL arrangements, promoting their fairness and transparency.

The webinar follows a joint Webinar on Third Party Funding of Litigation, with the American Law Institute, which engaged experts in a transatlantic dialogue on the topic and an inaugural Webinar on ELI Principles Governing the Third Party Funding of Litigation.

Confirmed speakers of the Webinar II include:

  • Pascal Pichonnaz, Chair; ELI President; Professor, University of Fribourg
  • Susanne Augenhofer, Co-Reporter; Professor, Universität Innsbruck; Visiting professor and Senior Research Scholar in Law, Yale Law School
