Secretary-General

Dr Vanessa Wilcox, LLM (Cantab), is the Secretary-General of the European Law Institute (ELI). She holds a Master’s in Commercial Law (LLM) from the University of Cambridge (2006) and a Doctoral Degree from the University of Vienna (2014), for which she received the Dr Maria Schaumayer-Stiftung Prize (2015) and the Association of Austrian Bankers Prize (2016). Dr Wilcox has been a Fellow of the European Centre of Tort and Insurance Law (ECTIL) since 2009 and an Honorary Professor at Yantai University Law School (China) since 2015. She also completed Executive non-profit management training at Harvard University, where she was awarded a scholarship. Dr Wilcox lectures at the University of Vienna and has taught at several universities in Austria and abroad. As Secretary-General, she is responsible for strengthening ELI’s network, establishing relationships with other institutions, and promoting the Institute’s work.
