The webinar started with a welcome address from Mr Hrvoje Pauković (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Director of the Croatian Insurance Bureau) and was followed by a lecture on 'Regulation Proposal COM (2021) 223 on Foreign Subsidies Distorting the Internal Market: A New Framework for Foreign Subsidies by Non-EU Countries?', delivered by Univ-Prof Mag phil Mag Dr iur Tomislav Borić (Distinguished University Professor at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz, Faculty of Law).

The lecture focused on the ex officio review of foreign subsidies by the European Commission, distortions on the internal market by foreign subsidies in concentrations and in public procurement procedures, and on the transitional provisions of the proposed Regulation.

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session.
