The lecture provided an overview of relevant provisions of the Digital Services Act with special reference to the operation of auction platforms. Special attention was paid to novel rules on liability for online platforms for allowing consumers to conclude distance contracts with traders, new institute ‘voluntary own-initiative investigations’ and implications thereof for the platform’s immunity, novel due diligence requirements for transparent and safer online environments, as well as to novel provisions on the supervision of online platforms and sanctions.

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session.

The next ELI Croatian Hub webinar will be held on 17 April 2023.
