The lecture is part of a series intended to gather together the wider Croatian legal community.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address from Mr Zoran Hačić (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Attorney-at-Law and Managing Partner at Hačić & Bošnjak Law Firm Ltd., Zagreb).
This was followed by an enlightening lecture on ‘Servicing and the Purchase of Creditor's Rights: Have we Professionalised the Assignment by Implementing Directive (EU) 2021/2167?’ delivered by Matej Trkanjec (team leader for legal support in retail at Hrvatska poštanska banka, dd).
In his lecture, Trkanjec presented the main features of the Croatian Law on Servicing and the Purchase of Creditor's Rights that came into force on 30 December 2023. A particular focus of the lecture was on the aim, subject matter and scope of this new piece of legislation, its definitions and fundamental principles, and the specific rules on requirements for the authorisation of credit servicers.
Following the lecture, an engaging Q&A session ensued, allowing participants to actively contribute to the discussion.
