Croatian Hub held the 28th Webinar in its Webinar Series

17.10.2023

On 17 October 2023, the ELI Croatian Hub hosted its 28th webinar as part of an ongoing webinar series aimed at fostering discussion on current ELI projects and recent developments in Croatian, comparative, and EU law. The webinar brought together 30 participants from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

The event commenced with a welcome address from Dr Ivan Tot (ELI Croatian Hub Co-Chair; Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business, Department of Business Law).

This was followed by an insightful lecture on ‘Recent Developments in Insolvency Law’ delivered by Judge Katarina Franković (Commercial Court in Dubrovnik).

In the first part of her lecture, Judge Franković discussed the transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/1023 on restructuring and insolvency into Croatian law. The second part of the lecture dealt with other developments in Croatian insolvency law, including recent amendments to the Croatian Bankruptcy Act. The lecture placed particular focus on the appointment, powers, liability, and dismissal of insolvency practitioners as the bankruptcy trustees.

Following the lecture, an engaging Q&A session ensued, allowing participants to actively contribute to the discussion.

Mark your calendars for the next ELI Croatian Hub webinar, scheduled to take place on 14 November 2023. More information here.
