Al-Taqwa University (AU) was founded in 2012 and officially registered with the government of Afghanistan. AU is a nationally accredited institution of higher education in Afghanistan. Quality education aimed at directing students towards research, innovation, and development is the defining element of Al-Taqwa University.
AU is recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan as the fifth best higher education institution in the country and made history by becoming among the top five universities in 2024. Since its inception, AU has grown from an initial enrollment of 150 students to more than 320 students in less than a few months. Today, it is a thriving academic and intellectual center dedicated to providing Afghans with world-class education programs. AU is a non-profit and co-educational institution offering bachelor’s degree programs in Economics, Business Administration, Law, and Political Science.
AU also offers diploma programs in Information Technology (DIT) and English Language (DEL). The University now has around 4,000 students in all four bachelor’s programs with more than 4,500 alumni.
