Les “avocats au Conseil d'Etat et à la Cour de cassation” advise, represent and assist their clients before the Conseil d'Etat and the Cour de cassation, the supreme jurisdictions of the French administrative and judicial legal systems. They are members of the bar common to the Conseil d'Etat and the Cour de cassation, and appear before the Conseil constitutionnel, the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights.
When consulted, these lawyers provide litigants with a sense of the probability of success of their litigation, taking into account the particular nature of the "cassation" technique which draws a sharp distinction between matters of fact and matters of law. Once they agree to take a case, they determine the means most appropriate to argue for the "cassation" which they then submit to the "Conseil d 'Etat"or the "Cour de Cassation" thus contributing to developing the normative role of these two high court and contribute to the selection of appeals before the French suprem courts.
