The Law Faculty of University of Plovdiv provides for training students in Law major since its founding in 1992. Its mission is to prepare highly qualified lawyers to work in the judicial system, in public administration, to protect interests of citizens, to support the activities of legal entities. Following the Bulgarian education system, it offers a 5-year Integrated Master of Arts in Law with different professional tracks. After that, students also could choose different master’s programs. The Faculty has its own distinctive appearance and establishes itself as a Bulgarian national center of education for prospective future lawyers. Training corresponds and adheres to modern methods of teaching and evaluating students’ achievements. The curricula also offer lecture courses in English and in other foreign languages. Teaching staff and students have the opportunity to carry out an academic mobility in many European law faculties. Member candidate of the European Association of Law Faculties (ELFA).
The Faculty has established a Legal Clinic, a Student Law Academy (SLA) and a Doctoral School (DS). They aim to ameliorate the students’ practical and creative writing skills, as well as their abilities in legal research. In addition, our students participate in the European Law Students Association (ELSA).
The Faculty founded the law review Studia iuris (https://studiaiuris.com/language/en/) and an ALUMNI Association. Studia iuris and the other scientific books published by the Faculty (Annual Scientific Works, Proceedings, etc.) are indexed in national and international electronic database. Its ALUMNI Association carries out activities in order to promote joint initiatives with law firms and other interested entities.
